Family Works Northern hit the headlines recently when our service manager for Whangarei, Margie Matthews, and some of her team were interviewed by National Radio’s Northland reporter Lois Williams.
In speaking about the complex issues – including mental health and critical housing shortages – facing families moving north from Auckland, Margie and her team not only drew national attention to those issues but also to the great work Family Works does to help families who need it most.
As well as running on Nine to Noon, the story ran near the top of Radio NZ’s news bulletins and was picked up by several other media including the New Zealand Herald, The Northern Advocate, MSN News and the Gisborne Herald.
