Welcome Message from Laurie Pedlar, General Manager FWN

I wish to extend a very warm welcome to all participants attending the Family Works Northern Regional Conference 2017 – ‘Social Services in the Future – Inform, Challenge, Inspire’.

The next two days are an opportunity for all participants, as valued members of the PSN Family Works team, to strengthen relationships with fellow colleagues and explore opportunities to reconfirm and align our work to PSN’s Strategic Plan 2013—2018.

As you know, we have a strong focus on ‘Becoming Wow’. We can all contribute to achieving this, but often we will need to be patient as well as enthusiastic, and prepared to persist in sharing our great ideas. Communication is the key towards achieving this goal so I invite you to share your views and/or ideas professionally and clearly and make the most of this opportunity.

I would like to thank those who have worked hard to bring this forum together, especially Ian Tomkins and Kelly Hynd. It takes a great team to make these events happen and all those involved have strived to make the workshops topical and interesting. We hope you also have some fun along the way!

Thank you once again for your commitment and participation.

Laurie Pedlar
