Denise Cosgrove

Denise has broad experience as an accomplished senior executive with commercial and public sector experience in New Zealand and Australia. Her previous roles have included being Chief Executive at the Victorian Work Cover Authority in Australia, a general manager at the Accident Compensation Corporation and an assistant auditor general. As well as contributing to various NGO organisations and actively supporting socially-minded entrepreneurs, Denise supports New Zealand’s contemporary art and design sector, especially new and emerging talent.

Wendy is responsible for the management of the Family Works Resolution Services. In addition to this she has overall responsibility for service improvement and business development at PSN. Prior to working at PSN she managed Auckland DHB’s Cardiovascular Services and Ambulatory Services and held Planning and Funding Management positions.

Alistair Houston

Alistair Houston

Alistair brings 25 years of experience of social work experience in three different countries to his role as Waitakere Family Works service manager. Scottish-born Alistair’s areas of specialty in Britain, Australia, and Aotearoa, include working with Children and Disability teams, Child Protection Intake and Assessment, Out of Home Care including Therapeutic Care, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Housing and Homelessness and Disengaged Youth and Parenting. His advocacy for social justice for all people has also included working on Manaaki Whanau, a kin care project for Maori, in mental health and with adults with intellectual disabilities.

Dr. Rod Watts

Rod has recently been appointed PSN Board Advisor after stepping down from the role of CEO to PSN – a role he has held for 10 years. Rod has a long history in health and disability services in Australia and NZ and wide experience in research, clinical and management roles. He holds a Ph.D. in the field of psychiatry and a Masters of Social Work.
Nicola Ssekajja

Nicola Ssekajja

Nicola initially joined as a family worker in 2013 before moving to become the team leader for Family Start Waitakere. Nicola is a registered social worker with experience in child protection in NZ and the UK. She also spent five years in Uganda working with orphan children under five years old. Nicola is passionate about children being able to be children, and giving parents the support they need to be the best parents they can be.

Lynne Fairs

Lynne is passionate about social work, having been employed in statutory child protection for the last 25 years. She was recruited from social service work in the UK in 2006 to join Starship’s child protection unit. Since then she has worked in maternal mental health and held various operational roles for Child Youth and Family.

Ian Tomkins has more than 25 years’ experience as a social worker. His background is in child protection, family work, therapeutic work with children, post-adoption and disability services. Ian is passionate about the ongoing upskilling and professional development of people committed to diverse community services.

Darrin Meynell

Darrin is a registered social worker who joined Family Works Northern in 2013 from Waikato Hospital. He has also worked in youth services and youth justice. Darrin's passionate about delivering high-quality social services to communities of need and supporting families to become safe and nurturing environments where children are encouraged to reach their best potential.
